The comfortable go-between – your women's parka by Esprit
The parka accompanies you all year round, even in bad weather... It certainly will keep you dry in the rain. This between-seasons jacket usually has a hood but can also come without. We have both lightweight cagoules and warmer parkas with thick lining. We have a wide range of colours, depending on your taste: classic black, olive green, blue or brown or bolder choices such as red or summery light pastels. Prints or patterns. Long or short lengths. Most importantly – always right for you – have a look inside.
Well-equipped with the right parka jacket
Due to its practical design, the parka has already been used in Arctic expeditions and the military, hence why it coined the name ‘army style anorak’. Even now, the parka is in great demand as a casual alternative to a coat or trench coat. The typical fit for a parka is its loose cut. It ends mid-thigh to just above the knee. Conveniently, our parkas tend to have a removable inner lining – so you can wear it all year round. The typical design features two front pockets. But many also come with smaller breast pockets or inner pockets for extra storage space. No need for a handbag! A parka includes a large hood. It also has a drawstring at the waist, which you can pull to make it more form-fitting. A drawstring at the hem makes it even more suitable for keeping your face dry in stormy weather. In order to endure so much, we use robust materials such as cotton, Lyocell, 3M™ Thinsulate™ or polyester for our parkas.
And just in case: the summer parka
The best parka for the summer is ideally none at all! However, for those cooler days, a light, water-repellent summer wind-cheater parka is the ideal companion. Mostly, it is so light that you can easily fold it away to put in your pocket.
Keep warm with winter parkas
Our winter parkas have much thicker layers. This typically includes a quilted inner lining and a large fluffy-lined hood. You may also like one with quilting and padding, ideal for an icy winter.
There is no such thing as bad weather with a rain parka
You can avoid getting drenched in a downpour with the rain parka. Simply put on the hood, close the drawstrings on the hem and the sleeves and make the most of the rainy day. Mesh inserts ensure that the temperature is just right inside the rain parka.
Short and sweet with the short parka
Are you not in the mood for too much length right now? Then the short parka is just right for you! The half-length jackets are in this season, featuring stylish colours such as: cheerful light pink, cool green and classic dark blue.
What are you wearing with your parka?
The parka always retains its casual style, even in a more sombre black. And that’s exactly why we like this transition jacket. The parka combines stylishly with skinny or slim fit jeans. This gives your outfit that fashionable contrast. In addition, the parka pairs well with an oversize jumper and boots in winter or a T-shirt and your favourite trainers on warmer days. A parka also looks good with other trousers like chinos and a hoodie. Create amazing combo styles such as rolled up jeans, black shiny boots, a black turtle-neck and an olive green parka.
Parka care: our tips
Every item of clothing needs some obvious guidelines: please note the care instructions on the label. Here are a few general tips at a glance:
- Wash on a gentle cycle at low temperatures – maximum at 30°C
- Wash inside out and close all zips and buttons. That way they don’t get caught in other fabrics.
- Do not use fabric conditioner
- Do not tumble dry
- Do not iron
