Bikini or swimsuit?
A basic question that you should answer before buying your swimwear. If you are a woman who likes to show a little more skin, the best way is to wear a bikini. If you want to go into the water and into the sunshine a little more dressed, swimsuits will be the right choice for you.
Compromise: the tankini
If you find it hard to decide between a swimsuit and a bikini, you don't have to: a tankini is the perfect solution for you. The tankini is a mixture of swimsuit and bikini with a long top that resembles a strap top and covers the stomach. Try it!
Buying tip:
There is no rule that states that you should always buy swimwear one size smaller. What matters is that the swimsuit fits your body well and feels good everywhere. It must not cut into you and the fabric must not stick out. Then it is the right one for you.
When you need versatility
The swimsuit should not only be for swimming or sunbathing. Ideally, it can also be a sports outfit and used as a top at the gym. Or become a party outfit with jean shorts or a skirt. The results are fashionably practical designs made from quick-drying and uncomplicated materials.
In excellent shape with matching women's swimsuits
Do you know what figure type you are? If not, it's enough to know your problem areas. That way you don't accentuate those problem areas with your new swimsuit but instead effectively show them off to their advantage.
Slight belly
Extra padding around the middle can be easily and magically removed with a swimsuit. And in different ways: ruffles in the belly area hide a round belly, while a beautiful décolleté is distracting and focuses attention. Vibrant colours in the chest area also distract from the stomach. Floral patterns can also conceal a small belly. Shaping swimwear provides support and creates a beautiful silhouette.
Strong thighs
In this case, the choice depends on the correct leg cut. It should be cut higher because that will visually stretch the leg. Waist areas and décolletage should also be accentuated.
Wider hips and bottom
Swimsuits with a low leg cutout are ideal because they draw attention away from the hips and bottom. In terms of colour, the lower area should be muted, while the upper area may be glossy with patterns or refined details.
Hardly a waist
Here, referring to the colour chart works well: a swimsuit with darker elements at the sides makes your waist look narrower and creates a more feminine figure. Ruffles on hips and décolletage further enhance this impression.
Small bust size
This is where swimsuits with push effect come into play: neckholders create a beautiful and voluptuous décolletage. Swimsuits with padded cups conjure up an additional cup size. Ruffles in the chest area also create the impression of a more voluptuous bust.
Large bust size
If your bust is rather large, it is important that your swimsuit gives you sufficient support. Especially if you also want to do sports. Concealed or non-concealed underwired swimsuits are the perfect choice for you. Pay attention also to designs with wide supports, as they optimally distribute the weight. If the supports can also be adjusted, all the better.
Ready for shore leave
Your Esprit swimsuit does not only make you look good in the water. A few accessories and a few steps are all it takes to make the perfect outfit for a sunset drink at the trendy beach bar. We have listed our favourites for you.
- Beach dress or tunic: just slip it on and you are ready to go out.
- Shorts: capri trousers or shorts ensure that your swimsuit is the centre of attention as a chic top.
- Sunglasses: this will complete your beach bar look.
- Flip-flops: toe separators with glitter straps add glamour.
The right care for your swimsuit
Swimwear is pre-stretched. The fibres from which swimsuits are made can withstand quite a lot. But salt water, chlorine and sun lotion also affect the fabric. If you take a little care of your swimsuit, you will be able to enjoy it for a long time to come.
- Rinse off immediately after swimming, so that no residues remain
- Wash swimsuits by hand using a mild soap
- It is best not to wring it out, otherwise your swimsuit may become stretched. It is best to lay it on a towel, which will absorb most of the moisture
- Then lay in the shade to dry, so that the sun cannot damage colours and fibres
